FALL 2023 / SPRING 2024 - Office of Sustainability Communications Intern

Overview
Thank you for your interest in working with the Office of Sustainability! In 2019, Lafayette adopted its second Climate Action Plan, committing to carbon neutrality before or by 2035. Interns with the Office of Sustainability help support this goal through programming, outreach, metrics, research, communications, the Eco Reps Leadership Program, and composting. 

Communications Intern (hiring 1)
Create content for a variety of platforms to reach campus stakeholders and tell Lafayette’s sustainability story. This position is paid a starting wage of $9/hour.

Responsibilities: 
  • Design flyers, informational materials, and graphics for stakeholder engagement
  • Develop a content calendar and posting schedule for various platforms (website, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Write content for blogs, newsletter, social media posts, etc.
  • Update website with timely information and upcoming events 
  • Create educational infographics and topical series for social media channels (primarily Instagram and Facebook) 
  • Work with campus partners for collaboration and co-promotion 
  • Assist Lafayette Communications with Sustainability news coverage 
  • Assist the outreach and engagement team with event promotion and amplification
  • Attend weekly staff and marketing team meetings

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Content development experience with high proficiency utilizing Instagram, Facebook, and WordPress
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop is highly desirable
  • Experience with Canva is acceptable
  • Attention to detail and ability to make changes based on feedback 

Time Commitment:
The Communications Intern will be expected to work 4-10 hours per week commencing in August 2023.
