Job Description: 
Lafayette College’s Communications Division is looking for a student writer to generate content to be shared on the Today.lafayette.edu site and in Lafayette Today.

Qualifications:

Ability to gather information and write short news stories previewing or capturing campus events. Ability to interview faculty/staff/students and write short stories that highlight the accomplishments of members of the campus community. Ability to talk with staff and faculty to find tips for the campus community to keep them informed and aware. Looking for a motivated, energetic student who is reliable, deadline-oriented, and is comfortable interviewing faculty, staff, and students. Ability to take photos and/or videos is a plus. This is an opportunity to gain writing samples and learn from professionals with backgrounds in journalism, communications, and marketing.

Hours per week: Dependent on assignments 

Required work schedule: No required hours, however, student(s) must be willing to attend

College events as needed.

This is a paid position  Some of the job may need to be done on campus (ie. Attending in-person events, taking photos, etc.) but some of the job can be done remotely (ie attending virtual events, interviewing students/profs over Zoom, writing content).
