Outreach & Engagement Intern
Raise education and awareness of campus sustainability efforts through event planning and coordination. This position is paid a starting wage of $9/hour.
Team Responsibilities:
- Plan and engage the campus community through events. This includes brainstorming and developing events aligned with our Climate Action Plan areas of focus (energy, regenerative ecosystems and biodiversity, and zero waste and circular economies)
- Work closely with the communications and graphic design teams to create promotional materials for events. Distribute physical event promotional materials throughout campus
- Connect various departments and organizations on campus for creative, collaborative partnerships
- Develop and run campus-wide educational programs (e.g. Reusable Clamshells, Sustainability Punchcard Program, etc.)
- Assist with educational tabling (creating materials, setup, execution, breakdown)
- Attend weekly staff and outreach and engagement team meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Experience with event planning
- Organized and able to juggle multiple items simultaneously
- An outgoing, people person
- Upperclassmen
Time Commitment:
- The Outreach and Engagement Intern will be expected to work 4-10 hours per week commencing in January 2024.
